A range of bathing, grooming, trimming and show preparation services

To keep a dog in top condition, espcially with long coated breeds such as Newfoundlands, regular bathing and grooming is essential. As well as preventing coat and skin problems, such care contributes greatly to a dogs wellbeing. Steve has an ever-growing list of exhibitors and pet owners that he baths and trims for and Hanningfield are pleased to offer a range of such services;

The 'Full Monty'

... four and a half hours of hard work later!

As the name suggests, this is the most extensive service and on a large breed can easily take four or more hours from start to finish.

  • Complete bath with shampoo and rinse then repeated
  • Apply coat conditioners, remove heavy knots and rinse again.
  • Blast coat to remove excess water
  • Thorough forced warm air drying
  • Full grooming to remove any remaining knots or tangles and prepare for trimming
  • Trimming to show standard (tailored to owners personal preferences)
  • Clean ears and cut nails
  • Guide price: £90 (for a giant long-coated breed)

The 'Every Other'

The Every Other service works best in conjunction with the 'Full Monty'. It is ideal for maintaining dogs in a good clean show-ready condition and idealy should be repeated every six or seven weeks. The Every Other service usually takes about three hours.

  • Complete bath with shampoo and rinse then repeated
  • Apply coat conditioners, remove heavy knots and rinse again.
  • Blast coat to remove excess water
  • Thorough forced warm air drying
  • Full grooming to remove any remaining knots or tangles and prepare for trimming
  • Maintenance trimming to show standard
  • Guide price: £60 (for a giant long-coated breed)

The 'Neat & Tidy'

The Neat & Tidy is ideal for pet owners who perhaps do not show but who want to maintain their dogs in best condition. This service usually takes about two hours.

  • Complete bath with shampoo and rinse then repeated
  • Apply coat conditioner, remove knots and rinse again.
  • Blast coat to remove excess water
  • Thorough forced warm air drying
  • Full grooming to remove any remaining knots or tangles
  • Ears cleaned and trimmed
  • Feet trimmed and nails cut
  • Guide price: £50 (for a giant long-coated breed)

Show Trim

Intended for dogs that have been bathed and prepared by their owners and just require trimming.

  • Trimming to show standard (tailored to owners personal preferences)
  • Guide price: £30 (for a long-coated breed)
